In the 148 page report that can be downloaded and reviewed online at www.aaafoundation.org/pdf/vrrd.pdf ( or Click Here ) , Peter Kissinger, President and CEO of the AAA foundation for Traffic Safety, states, "Although vehicle-related road debris (VRRD) crashes are generally less severe than other crashes, individual incidents can be catastrophic." So just how big of a problem is VRRD, and do Americans care? According to a survey conducted by the AAA Auto Club in South Florida, over 90 percent of respondents indicated that they consider VRRD to be a somewhat serious or a very serious road safety problem. In addition to the crashes and fatalities, VRRD is recognized as a major form of litter on North American roads. Most truck owners are aware of the problem, but seem to feel that they will never be at fault. The AAA report revealed that most accidents from unsecured loads are caused by small amounts of debris, such as sand, gravel, soil, wood products, etc. Small amounts of debris can be deadly at highway speeds. Another alarming fact was the accidents occur during short trips. Drivers fail to take the time to properly secure their loads because they perceive the transportation of their load to be a short, low-speed trip. Truck owners need to understand that they are responsible and liable for any damage or accident regardless to the fault or negligence, according to "Absolute Liability", which places an affirmative duty on the operator to maintain their vehicles, their loads and protect public safety.
TARPEEZ® has the solution that all truck owners need to secure their load and protect public safety. It's a durable, light weight, water resistant, soft cover tarp that covers truck beds in a matter of seconds. “It's a simple, convenient and easy to use tarp”, stated Dennis Fox, National Sales Manager and TARPEEZ spoke person, in a recent interview. TARPEEZ will "Safely Cover Your Stuff." "It's a product we developed 3 years ago and have been beta testing during the past 2 years. Now that TARPEEZ is patented and perfected we are ready to launch on a national level", said Mr. Fox. "We have placed, sold, and tested over 2,000 TARPEEZ. It's a product that both men and women can easily use to secure their loads." TARPEEZ will kick off their national launch at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas.
